Red, orange
and yellow.

Management Drives does not measure what you can do, but where your energy comes from. My profile is pronounced: three drives dominate. That makes it clear up front what you get from me.

The order in which I work.

Management Drives distinguishes six drives. What counts is not which ones you have, but the order in which they switch on. For me that logic looks like this.

1

Red: nerve, pace and force

Action comes first: making the call, keeping up the pace and being there at the moment it gets uncomfortable.

2

Orange: focused on the goal and the route

Once there is movement, the goal comes into focus: what do we want to achieve, and what is the fastest route there.

3

Yellow: analysing and adjusting

Tuning the engine while driving: understanding why something works, and adjusting it as soon as it can be better.

4

Blue: structure and completion

Structure is a means for me: I bring it in when it helps to actually finish something.

Where my strengths sit.

What the three dominant drives deliver in practice.

Red

Action and pace

Creating movement and taking clear decisions, including when that becomes uncomfortable.

Orange

Results focus

Pushing for progress and performance, and turning a goal into a visible result.

Yellow

Understanding and learning

Genuinely wanting to get to the bottom of things, weighing them thoroughly and continuing to learn.

What gives me energy.

Three drives give me energy over time. When those are served, the work moves faster by itself.

Purpose, pace and insight

  • Orange. Delivering results and being recognised for them, in an ambitious environment where people can distinguish themselves.
  • Red. Making pace and taking decisions with mutual respect: robust with and for each other, in an environment where things are clear.
  • Yellow. New insight, especially when something is fundamentally sound. An environment that inspires and gives room.

What this means when we work together.

What I bring, and where I need pushback

I am focused on action, combined with ambition: I genuinely want to achieve something and take responsibility when it has to happen. What I value in a team is pushback: someone who reminds me that alignment is not delay, and that certainty and trust weigh more heavily for others than they do for me.
